Matthew's driving a pickup truck in this area, which sounds like a good idea:
In one little town thingy in our area, most of the roads are half sand, half dirt, and half ruts.
-- And that is when it is dry. I heard that the roads can get pretty sketchy when it rains.
Emergency transfer!
Saturday evening Matthew got word that he was being transferred today to cover for a missionary that had to go home early. The missionary in question was training a new elder, so Matthew will take over that responsibility, having only 2 months in the field himself.
Matthew got to go to the temple! A regular occurence before COVID, this was the 1st time they'd been allowed to attend since.
Matthew announced that he just ate a live goldfish.
Today was transfers, so they moved P-Day to coincide with it.
This one was short; Matthew couldn't think of much to say, and mostly answered questions. Transfers are next week, so we'll see what happens to his companionshop. He heard that the elder originally assigned to Thailand won't get to go; he'll stay in TX. He said they're really busy now, with the schedule packed up to a week out.
In addition to emailing us in reply to Michele's questions & comments of last week, Matthew called on the telephone and talked to her for 45 minutes.
On Monday evening, we went on exchanges, where we and another companionship swapped companions for 24 hours. Unfortunately, almost all of my clothing was in the wash, because I thought we were leaving Tuesday morning, rather than Monday night.
During exchanges was when I visited the Balls. That was fun.
Got this photo from a friend.
